We'll join Botanist Aaron Arthur & Serpentine Ecologist Tanner Harris for a walk on the land to explore the unique plants of the Bohemia Preserve. We'll explore the serpentine habitat that makes this such a unique landscape
We will spend most of our day hiking & exploring the preserve. Please come prepared for a moderate to strenuous 2 - 4 mile hike. We will be hiking from the preserve entrance exploring the serpentine zones.
When and Where:
We will meet at 10 AM on at the Bohemia Ecological Preserve, 6773 Bohemian Hwy just past Westminster Woods. From the intersection of Graton Road and Bohemian Highway in Occidental, travel approximately 3 miles north on Bohemian Highway. The Preserve is on the right-hand side (if you are coming from Occidental) & looks like a quarry. Watch for staff or volunteers located at Bohemian Highway to direct you to parking!
What to bring:
Bring water, snacks, picnic lunch, clothing in layers, a hat, hiking poles, sturdy shoes, your favorite plant guides, notebook & pen if you wish, and a group spirit that allows us to stay together and have fun!
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
Workshops are limited to small groups for more hands-on experience
Workshop fees are non-refundable. Thank you for registering only if you intend to join us.
There is one porta-potty on the property.
There is no potable water available on the property.
No pets or smoking are permitted and absolutely no smoking pets!
We will stay together as a group & leave together. Early departures cannot be accommodated except in case of medical emergency.
