Carrington Ranch, a 330 acre gem on the Sonoma Coast, is home to amazing coastal grasslands and a piece of the California Coastal Trail, straddling Coleman Valley Road. The ranch's original homestead, consisting of house, shed and sheep barn, adds a historic flavor to this scenic beauty.
As of November 1, 2012 Carrington Ranch volunteers will no longer be managed by LandPaths. Volunteers should receive an update from the District in coming weeks. LandPaths will continue to offer guided tours and to work closely with the District and other partners to assist in moving Carrington toward the goal of a publicly accessible property.

A walk beneath Rancho Mark West's towering redwoods and Douglas-fir forest is inspiring, as is exploring the length of crystal-clear Mark West Creek with its steelhead and salmon that runs through this future preserve just outside Santa Rosa. Visit the gazebo and pond, historic ranch house or the old barn and corral to see where stage coach passengers once stopped to square dance.
By doing this you get a glimpse of Sonoma County's history where people and land were intertwined, as well as how this land can be part of a bright future for our region. This future can be realized for school children and visitors for generations to come with the creation of the publicly-accessible Rancho Mark West Nature Center.

Nestled in the rugged hills just a few miles west of downtown Healdsburg is a rare treasure. A spectacular 400 acre property-a mile and a half long by half a mile wide-LandPaths' Riddell Preserve encompasses diverse flora, high quality wildlife habitat and headwater land interspersed with perennial springs and stream channels.
Not merely breathtakingly beautiful, the land is wild and natural. Owned by the Riddell family for nearly forty years, relatively untouched by human interference, nurturing remarkable stands of mature and regenerating oak and madrone woodland, with islands of second-growth redwood emerging from the hardwood canopy, and vigorous stands of native bunch grass, these valleys and hills deserve protection.
