It is with heavy heart that I have to relay unspeakably sad news: our dear friend, LandPaths family member and dutiful staffer in our larger community, Field Programs Director Jonathan Glass, passed away Monday, February 25.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and for all of those that knew Jonathan – whether on a trail work day at Willow Creek, with a clipboard in hand as he so adroitly balanced the logistics of introducing people, coordinating the parking of cars and the trail to be negotiated or restored with hand tools by the faithful.
We will be considering long and hard a fitting tribute to our dear friend in the coming days and weeks. Given that so many of us (in the thousands) over these past ten years had the chance to walk, steward land, camp overnight, talk by phone, flip pancakes, haggle over maps and be indoors and out with this dear fellow, PLEASE consider this: begin collecting your recollections of Jonathan. At some point soon we will request these stories via email, card and letter so that we might collect them for his family and all of his friends here at LandPaths.
Plans for a memorial for Jonathan have not yet been made, but please check back to this page if you are interested for an update.
Thank you for keeping Jonathan, his dear wife Amie and daughter Eden Rose, his parents Linda and David, brother Andrew and their extended family in your thoughts.
Please stay in touch with those you love, and especially those that love the land as we all do.
Craig Anderson, Executive Director
