As we edge towards the seasonal transition into autumn, it’s a great time to reflect the summer that’s winding down. On any given summer day at LandPaths’ Bayer Farm, our two-acre community garden and hub in Santa Rosa, the energy was (is) magnetic! On Friday mornings, families gathered under the grandfather oak for bilingual storytelling. On Wednesdays, volunteer harvesters bustled around gathering vegetables in baskets to put up for donation at the farm stand.

Other days brought school tours, including one with college students from Japan, compost workshops, bicycle repair workshops, and arts sessions with Migrant Education. And every weekday, LandPaths’ offered free lunch to youth ages 0 to 18 with meals supplied by Redwood Empire Food Bank!

In other words, our two-acre community garden in the heart of Roseland was (and is!) a veritable hive of community, friendship, teamwork, and goodwill!
